How to create a thank-you page after a Leadpages form?

After filling in your form, visitors should see right away that their sign-up worked. A thank-you page reassures them, tells them what to do next and lets you count your sign-ups precisely.

Step by step

Screenshots show the interface used in the original guide (Shopify in French, Leadpages in English). In your account, buttons appear in your language.

  1. 1

Create a new page from a template

In Leadpages, create a new landing page. In the template gallery, filter on thank-you pages (« Thank You ») and pick a simple template. Give it a clear name, for example « Thanks – checklist ».

  2. 2

    Write a short, useful message

A headline that confirms (« You're in! »), then what happens next: « Open the email we just sent to confirm your address. » Remind them to check their spam folder.

  3. 3

    Deliver the promised freebie

If you promised a guide or a checklist, add a « Download » button that links to the file. Visitors get it right away, without waiting for the email.

  4. 4

    Offer the next step

Make the most of this moment of trust: a link to your Shopify store with a welcome code, an intro video or your social accounts. One main button, not five.

  5. 5

Publish it and connect it to the form

Publish the thank-you page. Then open the page that holds the form, click the form and look for what happens after submission (« After submitting » or « Form actions », depending on the version). Choose to show a Leadpages page and select your thank-you page. Update the form page.

  6. 6

    Test and count your sign-ups

Sign up with your own address: you should land on the thank-you page and the contact should reach your email tool. Each visit to this page is a sign-up: in Google Analytics, you can make it a key event to track your conversions.

Common mistakes

  • Keeping the default « Thank you » message: visitors do not know what to do next.
  • Forgetting to update the form page after choosing the thank-you page: the old setting stays live.
  • Adding too many links: one main button converts better.
